Graduates of Out-Of-State Programs

Note: The name on your application and registration with Pearson VUE should match your driver’s license. Please provide Pearson VUE with your Social Security number to avoid delays in processing.

Graduates of Out-Of-State Programs
Nurse Gateway Registration	Access the Nurse Gateway to register. Log in with your newly created username and password to access the Examination applications
Complete Online Application	Apply for licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing 4-6 weeks prior to program completion.
Official Transcript	Out-of-state graduates are required to provide an official transcript, the transcript must include your legal name (first & last), degree awarded and date of completion or conferral. Mail official transcript directly from your educational institution to: NCBON, Exam Department, PO Box 2506, Raleigh, NC 27602-2506 No other forms or documents are required from the school.
Pearson VUE	Register and pay at Pearson VUE Testing Centers at least two weeks prior to program completion.
Receive eligibility from the NC Board of Nursing	Allow up to 10 business days to receive Authorization to Test (ATT) via e-mail after the following are marked as complete: Application and payment are marked as RECEIVED Your Out-of-State Program is verified via transcript Pearson VUE registration is complete Note: We are unable to expedite the Examination process.
